Our School
Student Leadership
At Fir Vale Academy we strive to provide our pupils with experiences that allow them to develop valuable leadership skills, play a key part in the day-to-day running of the school and take on challenging responsibilities.
All Year 11 pupils are invited to apply for the prestigious role of School Prefect. Successful candidates receive leadership training and carry out daily duties to support the running of the school. They also represent the school at key events such as parents’ evenings, non-uniform days and celebrations.
A whole-school election takes place to elect the Junior Leadership Team (JLT) from the Year 11 prefects.
The Junior Leadership Team also leads the Pupil Parliament. In Years 7 to 10, each tutor group holds elections to select two Form Representatives. These representatives gather student voice feedback every half term, ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to share their views.
In addition, a year group election takes place to select two representatives from each year group to sit on the Pupil Parliament. The Pupil Parliament meets regularly with the Principal to discuss key issues, share ideas and help shape decisions within the school.
