Careers in the Curriculum

All students at Fir Vale Academy develop their understanding of careers and aspirations through the PSHE curriculum, tutor time and dedicated drop-down days. We have a planned programme for each year group, which builds on previous learning and responds to the needs of students at each stage of their education.

Students explore local labour market information to support them in making informed decisions about their future pathways. This is delivered by a small, specialist team of staff.

Alongside this, students in Key Stage 4 have the opportunity to study a range of vocational subjects, including Engineering, Hair and Beauty, Childcare, Health and Social Care, Business Studies, Film and Media, Hospitality and Catering, and Skills for Work.
