Link Support

The Link is Fir Vale Academy’s dedicated emotional wellbeing centre, designed to provide students with a calm, supportive space where they can develop the skills needed to manage their emotions and wellbeing effectively.

Our focus is on helping students to understand themselves better, work through challenges, and develop practical self‑help strategies that empower them both in school and beyond. By supporting emotional wellbeing, we enable students to feel more secure, resilient, and ready to learn - resulting in more confident and successful learners.

Time spent in 'The Link' may include support with emotional regulation, managing worries or anxiety, preparing for exams, building confidence, improving communication skills, or focusing on general wellbeing. Students are supported in a nurturing environment where they are encouraged to reflect, problem‑solve, and develop tools they can use independently in everyday situations.

Students can be referred to 'The Link' by staff within the academy, or they may self‑refer outside of lesson time. Parents and carers are also welcome to contact the school to seek support for their child or to request advice from The Link centre staff. We work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure that support is appropriate, timely, and focused on helping each young person thrive.
