School wins giant book token

The Learning Resource Centre has won a £10,000 grant from the Foyle Foundation to buy new reading books. Impressed by our funding application, and with the success our school has with promoting reading for pleasure, the Foyle Foundation awarded the money to help our LRC grow and become more accessible for students new to England and new to learning English.

Ms Leigh, Learning Resource Centre Manager, who is leading the project says “£10,000 is a lot of money and a valuable gift to our school. Our LRC is vastly improved as we have invested a lot of the funding towards books to help students develop their English. However, everyone in school will benefit from this as we have brand new and exciting books that all will enjoy.
