Fir Vale students attended the award ceremony for the South Yorkshire Inspiring Youth Awards. Hundreds of students from across South Yorkshire were present to celebrate their achievements. The awards run over the course of 10 months and the students who take part produce a personal portfolio highlighting not only academic achievements but personal ones as well.
This year Tayyibah Raffique, Sommaia Abduljalil, Magabi Sangare, Sana Khan and Jaweria Iqbal produced outstanding portfolios showcasing their academic successes, the work they had done for charity, work they had done in the local community and research they had done with regards to other cultures. They worked tirelessly, independently and proudly presented their portfolios in October of 2017. They were rewarded for their hard work and each received a certificate of recognition as follows
Tayyibah - Tier 8 certificate
Sommaia - Tier 6 certificate
Makagbi - Tier 5 certificate
Sana - Silver award certificate
Jaweria - Gold award certificate
These certificates are recognised qualifications and will complement the GCSE's the girls are currently studying for.
The Awards underline our school’s commitment to personal development and achievement.
